For the limited edition packagings of the Belle Epoque and Belle Epoque Rosé we wanted to bring a positive and mindful perspective to the terroir of Maison Perrier-Jouët and its most essential quality: its biodiversity.
The watercolor-drawings shed light on the complex mutual interdependencies that exist between the more or less visible living organisms and elements that make up the vineyard ecosystem.
We try to illustrate the role that each element plays in this fragile equilibrium, which Maison Perrier-Jouët is committed to preserving, as it plans an ecologically responsible future for its vines and its wines.
All illustrated species are recorded by a biologist in the vineyards.

Maison Perrier-Jouët and mischer’traxler studio have a long-standing relationship, which began in 2014 with the creation of Ephemera, followed by Curiosity Cloud in 2015. Both these works reflect on the relationship between mankind and nature, and in particular on the impact of human activities on biodiversity.
The collaboration continued in 2021 with the development of the installation “embodied nature” for Design Miami. embodied nature focusses on the importance to regard all species, including mankind, as forming part of a whole, and to reflect on the importance of understanding this interconnectedness.
